Our Shy Girl Interview is with me moi Dove!! The brain and heart behind creating and growing Shy World. I am the founder and creative director behind everything. A one woman show: creator, designer, marketer and business woman.
I thought it was about time I do a proper introduction. It’s my favourite thing in the whole world creating this dream brand. I’ve always been a creative since I was a little girl. I welcome you to Shy World and everything inside my imagination/inspiration.

So let’s rewind back…
I grew up absolutely loving anything in the arts!! Drawing, painting, dance, piano, art, books, music, movies! My hobbies since kindergarten have always been creating. It started with simply drawing and painting constantly and by middle school, the internet was big!! I was on Stardoll everyday after school playing dressup or on my Tumblr secretly being internet famous. I was obsessed with anything related to fashion always cutting out Teen Vogues and carrying around my own binder of designs.
My other big passion that really inspired me was travel. I was incredibly lucky to growup with parents that filled our upbringing with travels and culture. We got to explore the world and absorb new things. And by 12 years old, I was signing up for a french exchange to Paris with school. Those two things ~ fashion and travel have always fuelled me. And by my twenties, I had a click to create Shy World, my very own something.
Shy World is essentially my brand and baby I created from scratch, taking something I imagined and making it tangible.
A website, a community, a brand, a business and documentation of all my favourite: one of a kind pieces, travels around the world, interviews with people I admire, and anything I love.
Fun facts about me:
I was born in Toronto, grew up in Ottawa and now homebase is Montreal
I have a younger sister who’s a best friend and a husky Misca
In true Canadian fashion, I love the winter and skiing or skating
It’s not a surprise m favourite colour’s pink cause I’m very girly
My top three cities currently are: New York City, Paris and Mallorca
My top three brands currently are: Sandy Liang, Danielle Guizio and Sporty and Rich
I am super close with my whole family and we love eating and Catan!!
I love my friends to death and they inspire/motivate me endlessly
I could spend all day: drinking matcha, vintage shopping, trying restaurants and designing.
I love love love: art, books, music, movies (esp A24), ssense, sushi, driving, beaches.
My philosophy in life is to work hard, play hard and travel with your favourite people
My dream is to keep growing this brand and opening up my own shop/cafe one day (big manifestation)

2000’s rom coms + coming of ages (think Princess Diaries, 13 going on 30)
Yoshitomo Nara an amazing Japanese artist that designs lil creatures
Sandy Liang mentioned above, a brilliant Chinese designer in New York City
Interior design ~ I love designing my own spaces whether house, apartment, future store
Curating things ~ my love language is truly sharing things/places I love
Collecting items ~ magnets from my travels, matches from cute spots, art, homeware
Making videos ~ I love creating my own youtube videos to capture special memories
