welcome to the first SHY city guide and I’m so excited to highlight my city Montreal! I feel like my tumblr teenage self again excited to write posts and share on the internet. montreal is personally my favourite city in canada and it’s a magical city filled with so much culture/creativity. it’s a big city with an inspiring energy infused with hustle culture and many creative individuals. I personally see splashes of new york city, and major european cities tucked away in montreal. there’s an amazing food scene, the best curation of cafes, the most darling vintage shopping and endless fun things to do. iykyk type of things: hidden bars in bars, absolute gem of restaurants, the best matcha spots, unreal spots for nightlife and energizing music festivals.
1. crew cafe ~ good drinks, best cookies in a stunning old bank
2. seconde vintage ~ the most wonderfully curated shop of timeless vintage pieces
3. osmo cafe ~ my personal favourite spot in the city for matcha
4. sans soleil ~ after hours dive bar with the best cocktails/djs
5. cafe alphabet ~ a really sweet spot with delicious freddo drinks
6. museum of fine arts ~ one of my favourite places with really special exhibits
7. matcha zanmai ~ scratch that… this place is tied for best matcha treats
8. garden room ~ yummy thai food with the best mango sticky pudding
9. le centerpiece ~ absolutely beautiful local store that curates vintage furniture
10. rooney ~ another gem of a shop with amazing clothing selections
11. mignon steak ~ good surf and turf that won’t break the bank
12. stellina ~ pasta restaurant with the most scrumptious tiramisu ever
13. shaka ~ did someone say erewhon smoothie dupe in montreal?
14. old port ~ go grab a drink and enjoy walking around
15. ssense ~ you can play dress up at the ssense headquarters
