Welcome to Dove Loves!
The very first edition, a new website series that I’ll be introducing! My brain and personality is simply hard wired to collect and share beautiful things whether that’s sonny angels or matches or making videos or writing posts. One of my love languages is truly curating cool stuff and wanting to share that with family and friends or Shy World. So here is my first roundup of some special things that have been sparking me joy.
But first a note:
I want to remind you to take a proper moment of gratitude for where you are in life right now! Don’t forget where you are now is probably where you really wanted to be only a short couple years ago. I know just only five years ago personally, I was going through a super challenging period struggling with mental health. And I’m here to attest that honestly, truly “this too shall pass” and “you gotta keep going” cause life always improves. Sometimes we have to go through harder shit, to test our strength and contrast all the amazing things to come. So wanted to remind you that where ever you are in life and everyone’s paths unique, you fucking got this and rooting for you <3
Virgin album by lorde ~ this is definitely my favourite album this year so far. I grew up on lorde pure herioine as an angsty tumblr teen, then danced to melodrama in my college days with girlfriends and now I align so much with her third album in my late twenties! My favourite songs are shapeshifter and wish she could see me now. I remember cheering and crying and singing to Lorde at my first festival. And now full circle, she’s coming to mtl for a concert september. I can’t wait to see her very soon with my sister Elayna.
Ondule ondule flowers mtl ~ there’s no better treat than buying yourself flowers. One of my fave local florists in mtl is onduleondule
Collecting matches as souvenirs ~ as a sentimental girl that loves to collect anything/everything, these are my favourite thing as of late to huntdown. Nyc and paris are definitely more go-to cities with matches. But mtl has a couple tucked away gems as well. I mean c’mon the cutest thing in the whole world. Fun matches as a memento from a cute boutique, or dinner, or bar. My bf and I picked up so many darling ones in nyc. I can’t wait to do custom matches for Shy World!
Sofia Coppola archive book ~ one of my greatest role models and inspiration is Sofia. I love her films and creative direction and stories and aesthetic. This book is special and I love having it in my apartment. Will definitely have it sitting in my store one day to share.
Sandy Liang ballet shoes ~ one of my favourite designers at the moment is Sandy!! I love her unique collections totally girly, cutesy, french and ghibli inspired. I have a pair of her ballet inspired shoes on the wishlist. And cannot wait to be frolicking around them all over the city.
Danielle Guizio bear charm ~ a perfect new addition to my new paloma wool bag. it adds a little playful fun to every outfit everyday.
Paloma wool leather bag ~ my new current obsession picked up recently in nyc. the new paloma wool store is such a dreamy experience.
Shy world cap duh ~ our inaugural first product perfect for any outfit any place. i’ve been wearing this all summer so far all over the world ~ vancouver, aruba, portugal nyc
Rhode pocket blushes ~ hailey and her team really cooked with this amazing brand. The pocket blush in sleepy girl is an everyday must.
Rhode lipbalm ~ the original plus my makeup forever wherever walnut is my current favourite go to lip combo that always gets compliments.
Yoshitomo Nara skateboards ~ i’ve been adoring this japanese artist’s little creatures as of late. the skateboards are one of my favourite gifts I have received!! (chilling in my apartment always makes me smile)
Osmo cafe iced matcha ~ if you’re in mtl or coming for a visit soon, Osmo cafe is my go to spot for best matcha
Zamalek lemon iced tea ~ another perfect local brand zamalek with some very refreshing drinks. they’re perfect for any meals and sharing with your friends.
Materialits by Celine Song ~ I’m a big move girl and let me tell you, this is my favourite recent: A24, Celine Song, Dakota Johnson, Pedro Pascal, Nyc, Romcom!! 10/10
