SHY City Guide ~ NYC Fairytale <3
Vancouver, Aruba, Portugal and… New York City!!
It’s been a whirlwind start to the summer to say the least! I really saved all of my 11:11 wishes and manifestations for 2025. I got to travel the past two months with my favourite people. I got to lock in and really launch and grow Shy World as well. It’s safe to say I feel incredibly extremely happy, blessed, grateful, lucky. I want to thank each and one of you for supporting my brand. Or taking the time to explore my website or read my city guides. And believing in me or admiring my designs to buy and wear them!
A little update is our products are available to shop on www.shyworld.ca and to shop at Seconde Vintage in Montreal on 5274 St Laurent Blvd
But let’s rewind back to New York City! I got to go on a weekend getaway with my bf Mar! We obviously curated a very strict shy schedule of the best spots! And in Shy World fashion, here are some favourites! Obviously the city is the big city of big cities… It’s stocked with all the best cafes, bakeries, restaurants, bars, shops, boutiques, pop-ups, galleries etc. I can go visit Nyc every single year and it feels new. There’s endless inspiration, motivation, people, places to explore and discover.
Our favourites:
Mission Chinese restaurant in Chinatown for amazing food and drinks
Old friend photo booth to take cutie vintage pics as your souvenirs
Village East by Angelika to catch a movie (Materialists 10/10)
Cultures Frozen Yogurt for a late night stroll and treat
Don’t sleep on the little booths and the farmer’s markets
Wander into hidden gems of art galleries tucked away everywhere
Chinatown markets have really yummy and affordable fruits on display
Channel your inner art critic and unleash that child-like creativity
Shop Quarters is probably one of our highlights! Manifesting our future home to look like this
It’s a home store with the most unreal curation of interior design, furniture and home goods
Stop by the bar for a spicy cocktail and yap
Welcome to our future home designed to perfection
Happier grocery (Nyc Erewhon) was honestly a grocery like artwork
Pickup their free reusable tote and a Gentlewoman issue
Paloma Wool has a permanent store in the city now!!
Super inspired by their graphics so stay tuned for ours!!
Danielle Guizio was a dreamlike store designed to angel perfection
Stop by some of the local flower shops for serotonin
Sporty and Rich is another perfect lil shop (cafe and facials available)
Soho is just the spot to be honestly (shop, walk, eat, drink)
Stay tuned for part 2 of our NYC weekend and curation of spots cause there’s loads more…
Love,
Dovey + Mar
