29 circles around the sun
it feels like yesterday I was eight years old, lying in my bedroom playing stardoll all day. I created my own book of special pieces that I would lug everywhere with all my creations. I was literally obsessed with drawing and designing clothes in that book then making my friends rate them at school when we’re on recess and obviously… they always gave everything five stars :’) how did I blink and now i’m in my very last year of my treasured 20s?! still creating my own brand of special pieces that I do lug everywhere especially travels with all my creations! a full circle moment and it shows that despite what life throws at you, you’ll always find your way back to your roots. i am immensely grateful for everything i’ve collected thus far:
amazing family and friends who make my world go round
a home in ottawa and home in mtl to play
a solid meaningful big girl job that pays the bills
a dream brand launched grown every single day with love
the ability to stay active everyday and nurture my health
the ability to have financial freedom to invest and travel
falling in love over and over with new hobbies and new people
traveling all over the world to unlock inspiration for new pieces
obviously the 20s have been filled to the brim with lots of lows equally as highs! but at the end of the day I can say i’m truly proud of how far i’ve come. I couldn’t be who I am today without all of the mistakes and super hard times. because that’s what makes us stronger and grow and learn to be better every single time. I also have to shoutout my amazing girlfriends because growing/evolving together has been my favourite. they will always be my first soulmates/role models and pictures of motivation and inspiration every year. as well as my incredible parents and sister who infuse so much good advice and wisdom. they also always keep me grounded and humbled which I think is always very important to remember.
shy world is only 1.5 years old and only run by me and still a teeny tiny baby but I can’t wait to keep on creating and exploring the world and collaborating with others. a hobby turned business is such a dream come true and I am eternally grateful to the shy community. I cannot wait to launch the rest of the pieces this year and see you guys rock them! I have some very exciting trips and pieces planned for this year and I am stoked to show you all <3
