I discovered Daria through her sister Leah Kateb (yes Love Island icon) and immediately fell in love! We’re both the first daughter, best friends with our sister, super close with our family and have an obsession with vintage. She is known for styling her sister’s outfits that all went viral in Love Island eps… petition for Daria to become a stylist.
She lives in Calabasas with her whole family and all their animals and her dream closet! Thank you for being our inaugural SHY girl Daria, truly feel so honoured that you wrote something. I asked her below our five famous questions to pick her brain getting to know her. Read below what Daria wrote for her answers, and get some insight to who she is.
give us the 411 about you. who is daria kateb?
I’m Daria Kateb. I’m 26, born and raised in Calabasas, California. I still live there. I’m definitely a valley girl for life, I’m also a Virgo and I’m a Virgo to a T. That fully describes my personality. Perfectionist, organized, over thinker. Lol. I have all those traits. I think I have a dry sense of humor that not many people understand, especially on the internet. I don’t show a lot of my personality on the internet so I think I can be misunderstood sometimes. But I’m very caring, I’m protective over the people I love and I also think I’m really fun and funny lol. No one makes me laugh like me. Nothing means more to me than my family. I consider my parents to be my best friends. I’m a huge Disney adult lol. I think everyone already knows that. I think everyone already knows also how much I love to shop! My family, my dogs, anything Disney, and shopping are my favorite things ever.where are three of your absolute favourite travels and why?
Three of my favorite travels. Well I don’t travel a lot, but my favorite place ever to travel where I try to go at least once a month is Disneyland. Like I said I’m a huge Disney adult. I went all the time growing up as a yearly family tradition, but we stopped during my teenage years. I went for my 24th birthday two years ago and ever since then I have been in love all over again. That’s a huge source of happiness in my life. I have a Disney bucket list. I’d love to visit the Disney parks around the world at least once in my lifetime. Daria save disney paris and tokyo for your travel list - dovewhat are three items (material only) essential for a desert island?
Items I’d bring to a deserted island. For 1, can I say my phone? I don’t know how I’d survive without talking to my parents. I’d need to call my mom and ask her what to do. For the second one definitely sunscreen. If I could bring one skincare product, especially on a deserted island, it would be sunscreen. I wear sunscreen everyday whether it’s sunny or raining. Top skincare product ever. Or lip balm. I hate chapped lips. For my third one this is so material but you said material. And I’m a material girl for sure. I just got an Hermes Mini Kelly and all I have been doing since I got it is sitting there staring at her! I’d bring her to keep me company and distract myself from the fact that I’m on a deserted island. Ahaha Daria if I had a mini kelly same here! - dovewhat are some things you love but are shy about?
I’m not shy about anything that I love. I’m really an open book. A lot of people are embarrassed of hanging out with their parents, but they’re my best friends. I’m out at Costco with them every weekend and I’m proud of it. omg we’re actually twins Daria cause why is this me? - dove Definitely when I love something or someone, I love out loud. A lot of people judge my shopping habits but I still post my hauls. When I first started social media, I didn’t know if I was gonna share my love for Disney but then I was like who cares? There’s so much judgement around Disney adults, but it’s so fun and it makes me happy. I couldn’t care less what anyone thinks of me, especially when it comes to the things I love. Like I have an original doll from the “it’s a small world ride” and that is my most prized possession. Maybe even more than my mini Kelly. But a lot of people think it’s so creepy. I just don’t care. It reminds me of what people say on TikTok, “you found it cringe, I found it fun. That’s why I’m happier than you”. this is so perfect, life’s short so always be yourself - doveif you could collab on a shy world limited edition drop piece, what would it be?
If I could drop a limited edition drop piece as a collab with Shy World, I would definitely drop a keychain! I am obsessed with keychains and bag charms recently. I’m so obsessed with my bags and I love getting fun charms of Disney characters to decorate my bags. It’s very me. So I’d probably do that.
